Walkway over Mangrove Forest
These eco-friendly walkways are crafted from local hardwoods, built over the creeks and waterways at several Andaman mangrove forests. The mangrove forests are unique ecosystems that support a wide variety of plants, birds and wildlife within their tangled branches and exposed roots that prefer to grow in the brackish salt waters near estuaries and creeks. The walkways allow visitors to safely travel through the mangroves with huts and sitting areas, as well as informative displays to understand the importance of the Andaman mangrove ecosystems to the islands.
